Information you can review before using TabiDex.

TabiDex is a Japanese travel translation app from Angel Product Labs, the independent studio of Angel Garcia.

Get help

Email support@angelproductlabs.com. Include the app version and build, iPhone or Watch model, OS version, the button you used and what happened. A screenshot with private information removed can help. Do not include API keys, identity documents or private conversation recordings. We do not need your complete travel conversation to investigate an interface problem.

Set up before traveling

Install the Japanese and English translation and speech resources the app requests. Enable Apple Intelligence and let its on-device models finish downloading if you want reply ideas or photo explanations. Install preferred Apple system voices through iPhone Settings. Test the features before relying on them while traveling; resource downloads and iCloud-backed photos can require Wi-Fi or mobile data.

AI or English speech is unavailable

The Apple-only release uses no OpenAI API account or billing. Check Apple Intelligence readiness for AI features and installed Apple voices for speech. Japanese phrase playback uses its Japanese voice independently. Use typing, text display or phrasebook entries if local AI or speech is unavailable. Older beta builds can show different provider controls; update to the Apple-only release when it is distributed.

Listening stopped

Listening stops when you leave Talk, lock or background the phone, play a phrase, or encounter an audio interruption. Return to Talk and start a new session when ready. A new session requires participant acknowledgment; saved audio also requires separate confirmation. Do not try to bypass another participant’s refusal or a venue’s recording rules.

Photos, menus and safety

Choose a sharp, close photo with readable Japanese text. Check OCR and prices against the original. Local AI explanations may be wrong. Confirm ingredients, allergens, cross-contact, quantities, taxes and final prices directly with staff. TabiDex cannot determine that a dish is safe to eat from a photo.

Privacy requests and deletion

Follow the data-control guide for information held on your devices. Email support for information you sent in correspondence, or to report a privacy concern. We do not operate a server containing your app conversations. Read the Privacy Policy and Terms for details.
